Overview
Operations don’t stop, and neither should your support. MCP Consultants provides skilled labour hire, asset maintenance, and mining and construction equipment supply across regional Queensland, scaled to the job, whether that’s a shutdown surge crew or long-term operational support. We resource crews of up to 10 personnel, recruited to the requirement: mechanical fitters, concreters, equipment operators, safety officers, and engineers and other professional personnel.
Because we’re a delivery business first, the people and equipment we supply come with the planning, compliance and safety systems already in place. Labour hire that treats compliance as the client’s problem creates work rather than removing it. Tickets, competencies and inductions are verified before mobilisation, so crews arrive ready to start.
The same applies to equipment. MCP does not carry a plant fleet; equipment is cross-hired to the scope, which is standard practice on mine sites. Cross-hiring plant to the scope alongside the people who operate and maintain it means a job can be resourced as one package, rather than coordinated across suppliers who each hold part of the picture.

Where we work
Across the coalfields
We resource work across the Bowen Basin coalfields and into the Galilee Basin, operating out of Mackay. Mackay is the supply and logistics hub for the basin, which is what makes crewing and equipment mobilisation to Moranbah, Coppabella, Dysart, Nebo, Collinsville and the surrounding operations practical at short notice. Being regional is the point: labour sourced locally turns up, and turns up on time.

Before you enquire
What trades can you supply?
Mechanical fitters, concreters, equipment operators across various classes, safety officers, and engineers and other professional personnel, all subject to site-specific induction requirements. We recruit to your requirement rather than run a standing pool, so the crew that mobilises is matched to the scope, tickets and roster you actually need.
How quickly can you mobilise?
Where site inductions are already current for that operation, personnel can be on site within 24 hours. Where a new site induction is required, mobilisation typically takes one to two weeks, and longer on some BHP/BMA operations. In practice we mobilise as fast as the site's own induction and access systems allow, and we plan for that up front.
Do you supply equipment as well as people?
Yes. MCP does not own plant. Equipment is cross-hired to the scope, which is standard practice among contractors and service providers on mine sites and means you get the right machine class for the job rather than whatever is in a yard. Supplying plant alongside the people who operate it lets a scope be resourced as one package.
What size crew can you resource?
Up to 10 personnel per engagement, which suits shutdown support, surge labour and small-to-medium project crews. Larger requirements are discussed case by case.
How do you handle site compliance and inductions?
Tickets, competencies and inductions are verified before mobilisation, and the required safety documentation is in place before work starts. Requirements vary by site and are confirmed as part of scoping.
