Our civil and structural contracting capability covers overburden dump construction and extension, dams, drainage and water management, haul roads, pads and laydown areas, site preparation, and dust suppression. We understand mine-site conditions in the Bowen and Galilee Basins because that is where we work, week in and week out.
The complication on an operating mine is rarely the earthworks themselves. It is delivering them without interrupting production. Sequencing around live operations, managing haulage interactions, and keeping the work safe where mining and construction share ground is where a civil scope is genuinely won or lost.
Recent work includes client-side project management support on the Dump 5 mine-affected water dam at Carmichael, construction and delivery support on the Long Term Tailings and creek works at Peak Downs and Saraji, and civil superintendence of the Barada Barna Road corridor at Olive Downs. Across the coalfields
Our civil and earthworks capability covers the Bowen Basin coalfields and extends into the Galilee Basin, where we are currently supporting the Dump 5 mine-affected water dam at Carmichael. That includes the operations around Collinsville, Moranbah, Dysart, Coppabella and Middlemount, south through Blackwater, Emerald, Capella, Tieri and Moura, and west toward Clermont and the Galilee. Central Queensland ground and weather behave in specific ways, particularly where mine-affected water is involved, and local delivery experience is what keeps a wet season from becoming a variation claim.

Before you enquire
Can you work around live mining operations?
Yes, and most of our civil work is delivered that way. Sequencing earthworks against active production is often the harder half of the job, and it is planned in from the start rather than managed reactively.
Do you handle mine-affected water works?
Yes. Mine-affected water dams and drainage are a core scope. It is compliance-critical work, where containment, drainage paths and capacity all have to land to specification, so it needs to be delivered as an integrated package rather than as separate trades.
What size earthworks scopes do you take on?
Small-to-medium civil and infrastructure works: dams and levees, creek diversions, haul and access roads, pads and laydown areas. Recent engagements include client-side project management support on the Dump 5 mine-affected water dam at Carmichael, construction support on tailings and creek works at Peak Downs and Saraji, and civil superintendence of the ~50 km Barada Barna Road corridor at Olive Downs.
Do you cover the environmental and compliance side?
Compliance documentation and environmental controls are planned and prepared as part of the scope, not treated as an afterthought. Specific approvals requirements vary by site and are confirmed during scoping.
